Thorn of a Rose illustrates nature's way of ironically showing us our truth as humans. The thorns upon a rose a piece of its defining nature, protecting the flower’s core as it blooms to life. Similarly, human defenses, developed from pain caused along our journey, protect us from the forces we encounter along the way, but also blindly hinder us as our story unfolds. This is my story, using nature to define the essence of my being and once broken mind. I was once a thorn of a rose waiting for someone to take the risk to love me only to realize I needed to first reevaluate my life, the trauma traits I'd developed along the way to ultimately learn to love and respect myself.
