Check out the interview:

Tell us a little bit about yourself. Your background, education, writing passion etc. ??

I am a wife and mother, widow and survivor. My parents escaped Iran to bring us to the United States where I was raised in Utah. I Graduated Summa Cum Laude with an Associate’s Degree in Applied Science and a Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education and have taught 4th grade at a Utah charter school. Before stepping into authorship and education, I spent over 15 years building a successful career in real estate and I’m currently entering the speaking circuit.

Your latest book?

My book is titled Made for Me and it is a memoir chronicling finding true love, enduring loss, living in grief and realizing that God created us to love bigger than we could imagine.

Could you please let us know more about your memoir 'Made for Me'?

Made for Me is a deeply personal and emotionally rich memoir chronicling the love story of my late husband Joshua Michael French— it is a tale of healing, second chances, and divine orchestration. Told with vivid detail and emotional authenticity, the memoir traces our courtship through heartfelt conversations, inside jokes, family trials, shared values, and growing intimacy. It captures the beautiful chaos of blending lives, the joy of newfound love, and the weight of past wounds—both seen and unseen.

What's the reason behind choosing this name for your book?

This title explains how we have people brought into our lives exactly when we need them and made exactly for us to experience the joy and love intended for us.

What has been one of the most exciting achievements of your career so far?

Getting my first book written and published. It is truly an achievement I never considered and I am very excited to share my story with others.

What is a personal goal in life you want to achieve next?

I will continue writing, return to teaching and cultivate the relationships I have been so privileged to be blessed with in this short time we have on earth.

What motivates you to do your best work?

My family and I are trying to share more good things in the world.

Is being an author something you have always wanted to be or is it more of a hobby? If so what is it u want to do?

I have always loved writing and reading. I always wanted to become the author but wasn't quite sure how until now. I can honestly say I have the writing bug and am anxious to publish my next 4 books as well as complete the next non fiction in the works.

Your fav. Book?

Jane Eyre

Are you active on social media?

I am, although only recently, my husband is a publicist and just launched my social media platforms under Careshmeh Dean.

Interview with Allen Lyle | Author of Red Sun Rising

Allen Lyle lives in Athens, Georgia, (GO DAWGS!) where he shares his home with his wife, four cats, a sweet pup, and several hundred books. A lifelong devotee of science fiction and fantasy, he fell under their spell at a young age and never looked back. Allen considers himself a lifelong devotee of science fiction and fantasy, He has always been drawn to the intersection of history and the speculative, asking questions like, “What if the Byzantine Empire had rockets?” or “What if Tolkien’s world had taken place in the Golden Age of Piracy?”

An avid gamer, Allen has spent countless hours orchestrating dynastic dramas in Crusader Kings III, an inspiration for his debut novel. His fascination with history extends beyond pixels and pages—he’s an enthusiastic collector of antiques, a lover of travel, and a devoted fan of minor league baseball. When he’s not writing, Allen can be found painting miniatures or reading. His debut novel takes readers thousands of years into a post-apocalyptic future where the kings and queens of Europe, now called Yuropa, rule once more. It's sure to hit the sweet spot for fantasy, sci-fi, and history lovers alike...just like Allen.

We had a great chance to conduct an interview with him, in which he told us much more about his novel “Red Sun Rising”.

Check out the interview:

Tell us a little bit about yourself. Your background, education, writing passion etc.??

I grew up in Marietta and have lived all over Georgia. I currently reside in Athens, GA with my wife and children’s author (Mort, Bones Ironclaw), Morgan Swank. I went to school at MTSU in Murfreesboro, TN where I learned a bunch of stuff I never use. I got into writing after getting laid off from my role as a Tech Recruiter. I have always been a voracious reader and suddenly had a lot of time on my hands, so I thought I might as well give it a shot. I initially thought it was going to be a hobby while I looked for a job but I was lucky enough to have a brilliant wife who helped me out immensely and a great publisher in Moon Publishing who definitely took a risk on a first time author. I primarily write Science Fiction, Red Sun Rising is a blend of many different types of sci-fi: political, warfare, cyberpunk, post-apocalyptic, fantasy, and more. I do enjoy writing short stories as well, I get to explore other genres like horror and traditional fantasy, but sci-fi will always be my first love.

Any upcoming books aside from Red Sun Rising?

Red Sun Rising will be a six part series and we are currently tying up the second book. I have a lot of other ideas I would love to publish, but we are focused on our series right now.

If so, what are your plans for those? Tell us more about them.

We plan to continue the story of the de Bordeauxs, to answer questions about the world, and to explore the questions we began with in the first book. I am extremely excited, I felt I learned so much from my first book, and I can’t wait to show everyone how I’ve developed as a writer.

Could you please let us know more about your novel 'Red Sun Rising’ and what your vision is for the world? What do you see for yuropa’s end game?

The tag line we have been using is its Game of Thrones meets Mad Max meets Dune. It takes place in a rebuilt civilization in Europe, now called Yuropa, and we follow the rise of one family from their humble halls into a continent spanning empire. I want to continue to expand the world, the series will take place for roughly one thousand years, so we get to really dig into how civilization changes and how the technology advances. I really wanted to tell a story that begins with small stakes and continues to build until the fate of the world hangs in the balance.

What's the reason behind choosing the name ‘Red Sun Rising’ for your novel?

I wish there was an incredibly brilliant reason that tied together various literary and historical influences but the real answer is I chose it because I thought it sounded cool. There is some thought to it, the family’s heraldic color is red, and the book is about their rise to power, but honestly it’s just because I liked the name.

What has been one of the most exciting achievements of your young but flourishing writing career so far?

Seeing the art! It has been so cool to see so many incredibly talented artists work on a world I created. We had official heraldry done by Neil Bromley, we had tarot cards done by Angelina Smith, and the team at Pogzart worked on some incredible prints. It’s been amazing getting to work with them.

What’s the next goal with these stories that you want to achieve next?

I want every book to be better than the last one. I want to continue to grow as a writer and I want to continue to explore new genres and new stories as a reader. I want every book to be bolder, weirder, and more creative.

What motivates you to do your best work?

I am a huge proponent of consistency. I set a daily writing goal (one thousand words a day in my case), and do that five days a week until the book is done. I am not a writer that gets a lightning bolt of inspiration and writes ten thousand words a day. I am a grinder. Having said that, reading great stories definitely motivates me more than anything else.

Did you choose writing, as a career, or as a hobby?

I definitely chose it as a hobby. I honestly expected Red Sun Rising to be read by me, my wife, and my mother and that was about it. I got incredibly lucky to get where I am today.

Your all time fave novel? Short story?

My all time favorite novel is Hyperion by Dan Simmons. Special shout out to The Scar by China Mieville, and Gideon the Ninth by Tamsyn Muir. I could honestly list twenty more novels here but I’ll save the word space. My all time favorite short story is The Last Question by Isaac Asimov.

Interview with Sherman P. Bastarache | Author of Conspiracy by Means of Natural Selection

Sherman P. Bastarache is an Award-Winning Canadian author currently living in Riverview, New Brunswick. He just published his fourth book Conspiracy by Means of Natural Selection. It examines human nature, our origins, and how belief-knowledge tends to overpower our reasoning.

His third book: An Erotic Phenotype, which delves into the human emotion we call romantic love. An Erotic Phenotype covers our human climb from animal instincts to higher emotions.

His second book: Moral Indignation, treats the topic of embryonic stem cell research with all the moral implications, specifically women's rights, abortion, and the impartment of a soul, based on religious assessment.

In the book Tilogos, after years of reflection and observations on how people use language naturally, watching children learning to speak and researching the topic he has finally written his first book on the topic of language.

Sherman enjoys spending time with his granddaughter. Children are the best teachers as they learn unabashedly and teach honestly life's loves and lessons.

We had a great chance to conduct an interview with him, in which he told us much more about his book “Conspiracy by Means of Natural Selection”

Check out the interview:

What sparked your passion for writing, and how has it evolved over the course of your career?

I find writing helps to formulate better thoughts. I had a “wait just a minute” moment one day and started writing my first book—on language. The creationist claimed that language was so complex that evolution could never explain it. The Intelligent Design camp claimed many things were too complex to arise without planning by an intelligent designer. I thought otherwise! As I started to compose the words that would formulate my thesis, I realized that writing was powerful. I became addicted.

Over the years. I developed better critical thinking skills, and grew to love reading, which greatly aided my research. Moral Indignation grew from the realization that prolife advocates are more often not prolife, but strictly anti-abortionists. I saw the religious argument differently and compiled an argument in favor of science and religion (faith and reason) working together—as they should—for the benefit of all humans.

You've written on diverse topics like language, erotic phenotypes, moral indignation, and conspiracy theories. What draws you to explore such varied subjects?

Mostly a lack of knowledge. I feel that it is our human responsibility to learn as much as we can. The best tool humans have for learning about complex behaviours is the power of questioning. One cannot find a more complex behaviour than love. It was my depression that questioned love, I was just along for the wild ride. Now that my depression has a better understanding of love, it takes frequent naps, which allows me to live life again.

You've won awards for your writing. How do you think your achievements have impacted your approach to storytelling or non-fiction writing?

It scares me! As it should! It sets a bar which, naturally, everyone, myself included, wants to exceed next time around. This is an impossible demand humans tend to place upon themselves. If my writing is worthy of an award, it has one meaning to me: the work in question was expressed well enough, understood well enough, that it was not a waste of my time writing it, nor the awarders time in reading it. This is all one can hope to achieve in life—to be well understood. With that said, I continue to write every word with the hope of being well understood.

What was the spark that led you to write Conspiracy by Means of Natural Selection, and why did you feel this subject was so important to tackle?

The past few years have been exceptional in fake news, conspiracies, and misinformation. Any time something becomes exceptional it is worth investigating. Extremism is everywhere. Misogyny, mans original pathology, is beginning to reassert itself everywhere.

Knowledge is, and has been, growing exponentially for some time now. The question that must be asked is: Why are humans rejecting this hard-won knowledge? No one bothers to research history, science, religion, or for that matter, the sources of the information they hold as true.

The final assault on our humanity, for me, was wording. He who controls the narrative, controls the world! When people freely corrupt the meanings of words—place their own definitions contrary to the original meanings—then it is time to investigate this cringe phenomenon. To use only one example, the corruption of the word genocide stands out here!

The book suggests that conspiracy thinking is rooted in natural selection. Could you explain, in simple terms, how human nature and evolution play into this idea?

You are teaching your daughter to play catch. To catch a ball, her brain performs complex calculus. It is not just that her brain learns from trial and error. Natural selection promoted brain cells, entire brains, that excel at learning the world. (Importantly, not learning “about” the world). To do this, these brain cells must hold information as true, then test for accuracy. That works fine for calculus. There is a vast body of neuroscientific evidence as to how brain cells grow new connections, strengthen some connections, and prune connections that are no longer relevant. There are even videos of cells growing new connections.

When dealing with unproven, or unprovable beliefs, there is no trial and error to control brain cell connections. As long as these unprovable beliefs do not interfere with our natural survival, then there is no selective pressure against them. Thus, our brains continue to affirm what they hold as true, without proof. The more affirmation they receive, the stronger the connections get. When valid evidence is presented against our held true convections, well, let’s just say that it is easier to make strong connections then it is to break them.

In using words, with the original unadulterated meanings, we have one that stands tall. Spirate, the original becomes the root for: Spirit, inspire, expire, and even spiral when we lose control. It is no surprise conspire would top our list. To conspire is to make everyone else believe as we do! To breathe our truth into others!

You mention that your findings may challenge or even offend readers from different walks of life. Why was it important for you to take that risk in pursuit of truth?

Truth is the only eternal! After everything in this universe vanishes, the only thing that will remain is the truth of its former existence. Truth does not concern itself with your opinion. If humans are to survive themselves, they must first confront what they hold as the truth.

There is one scripture that stands out to me, paraphrased here: If one knows to do good, but does it not, unto them it is sin. This is true whether you are religious, atheist, or indifferent! To seek out truth is par excellence and guiltless.

How does "Conspiracy by Means of Natural Selection" fit into your broader body of work, and do you see themes from your other books intersecting with this one?

I do have certain themes recurrent in my broader body of work. Questions that never get asked, never get answered. Why is every difficult concept to find answers to always explained away by happy accidents—scientists, or the God of the gaps—creationist? If you don’t know something, say you don’t know! Then formulate better questions.

How can evolution by means of natural selection create a perceived soul or spirit is a bad question. A better question, one with a possible answer, is how did natural selection create a brain that thinks about itself? That answer might be as simple as information collection. Information enters the brain from several different senses and is stored and processed in different brain areas. Every brain cell is in communication with every other brain cell—generalized here, for critical thinkers. It would be harder to explain a brain system not developing the concept of having a soul or spirit superimposed upon it. Once this conclusion is reached, the answers to harder questions start to appear.

I expressed these ideas in Moral Indignation in answer to the impartment of the soul. I avoided the topic of love in Moral Indignation as it was too long to consider in that work. An Erotic Phenotype was meant to establish a selectable, natural truism on the emergence of romantic love. Of course, all my books are based on the scientific perspective.

The seeds for Conspiracy by Means of Natural Selection started out by me asking myself: Why is it so easy for people to dismiss proven facts? I could recognise people finding it difficult to understand the facts. Dismissing them out of hand?

In Conspiracy by Means of Natural Selection I revisited one theme from An Erotic Phenotype, with a twist—our matriarch origins—incinerated by the rise of one specific pathology. That pathology is misogyny! Once misogyny becomes religious doctrine it becomes the will of God! This world has been burning ever since!

How do you think your curiosity about life and human nature influences your writing?

I think that curiosity is the spice of life! If we were not curious creatures we would perish from boredom. Every tidbit of information we inhale through our senses is driven by our curious nature of wanting to understand how the world works. Deep down humans want to understand the nature of love, the nature of happiness, the nature of behaviour. You just need to watch people while they learn. This is especially true of watching infants and children’s reactions to their “ah ha” moments.

How do you balance your writing with other aspects of life, like spending time with family (like your granddaughter)?

I work a fulltime job! I did the math! If I die at the age of 87, I will need to work until I am 93 years old before I can afford to retire! Greedflation! Shrinkflation!

I live extremely close to my family: one of my daughters and granddaughter. Because I see them daily, the burden of trying to find time to spend with them is lifted. I am blessed in this. My other daughter lives two-hours away, so I must set time aside to visit.

Divorced for a few years now, gives me plenty of alone time to ponder life’s meaning. I even find time to write these ponderings in the form of books. I am currently writing my fifth book—a surprise, so don’t ask—which is mostly still brain strain.

What are your goals for your writing career in the next few years?

The love of writing is one of those unexplained phenomena, like the spirit or soul, mentioned above.

I do not formally advertise my books. I do get them reviewed and post the reviews. Good reviews do not automatically sell books. Receiving an award does not make a best seller. That said, as long as I can afford editing cost, I will continue to publish what I write. I will continue to write until I cannot write anymore!

They say that humans are social creatures and require intimate companionship. Writing has become my intimate companion. Writing has deep conversations with me. Writings enquiries are a genuine attempt to get to know me better, or at least to bring out the best in me—I am no angel. This companionship eases my depression.

Interview with Benny Brenner

Let’s start from the beginning— your first poem in first grade! How did that moment shape your love for writing?

I was a very shy kid! I didn’t really talk. I was always the outcast, and being noticed by a teacher truly made me feel seen and heard, and receiving such positive feedback helped me so much in my confidence.

You describe yourself as a “spooky mom with a spooky kid”—how does being a parent influence your writing?

Being a mom has toned me down tremendously. I’ve always been really extra  but now that I’m a mom, I’ve toned it down in a modest way where I can enjoy it as well with my son.

Your child, Ace, also writes spooky stories! Do you two ever collaborate or share ideas? What’s it like having a fellow writer in the family?

Yes! Sometimes at dinner we tell each other spooky stories. I started writing down Ace‘s stories and was going to start a children’s book series called The Adventures of Ace! All the stories are original from him and he helped guide the whole thing.

You’ve been writing your whole life—what keeps you inspired after all these years? Trauma, I’ve been through so much in my life and being handicap myself my health is always keeping me on my toes. A lot of these stories are inspired by daydreaming, nightmares I’ve had or just my imagination!

What’s your writing process like? Are you a disciplined daily writer or do you follow inspiration when it strikes?

I wish I could write for 30 minutes every day. I’m sure it would help me tremendously. But I write whenever I get a chance. Sometimes I’ll just jot stuff down in my phone because I’m normally on the go with my son or with work.

Your book "Modern Mysteries" has a really intriguing title. Can you tell us what inspired this collection and what themes it explores?

I wanted something more up-to-date, not just the typical rules to horror. I want to incorporate LBGTQ friendly stories as well as stories that have handicap characters. That’s more real that’s more true to me. I’m bisexual and handicapped, why not scare myself some more!

Which part of "Modern Mysteries" is closest to your heart, and why?

It was my first short story book I ever got to publish! I have several books that I would like to publish, but maybe one day!

What's your goal in life you want to achieve next?

I just want to live a happy, healthy life with my son and husband! I would like to be able to write whenever I want, having the flexibility, and freedom to do the things in life that make me happy!

Your favourite book?

Growing up my favorite book was by Stephen King Rose Red. Still to this day one of my favorite movies!

What advice would you give to a young or emerging writer?

Write outside the norm! Forget what people think writing should be like. Write what you feel, and how things appear in your mind. Not everyone will like what you do, so do it for yourself.

Interview with Kevin Frasure | Filmmaker and Writer of “The New Myths Course”

Kevin Frasure — horror writer, filmmaker, and lifelong explorer of the strange, unsettling, and spiritually mysterious. He specializes in creating stories and resources that dive deep into what truly terrifies us, blending classic horror with modern insights and mythic themes.

Whether it’s a cursed microwave, a haunted forest, or the slow descent into madness, he is fascinated by how fear works—and how we can harness that fear to tell unforgettable stories. He has written for horror magazines, produced micro budget films, and now he's curating tools for fellow writers, filmmakers, and fans who want to go deeper into the craft of horror. He is currently in preproduction on the horror film The One-Eyed Monster. You can read more about his horror projects here. https://kevinfrasure.substack.com

He recently created a course 'The New Myths Course' for novelists, screenwriters, filmmakers etc… We had a great chance to conduct an interview with him, in which he told us much more about his courseThe New Myths Course

Check out the interview :

Tell us a little bit about yourself, your background, education, your passion, etc.

I'm a horror writer, filmmaker, and a nonprofit support staff with over 20 years of experience working with special needs individuals. I've been writing since I was a kid, everything from short stories to screenplays, and recently completed my first proof-of-concept film for The One-Eyed Monster. I've studied with the Hollywood Scriptwriting Institute, Truby's Writers Studio, and several other industry professionals. Storytelling, especially horror with a mythic or spiritual twist, is my lifelong passion. I also run a Substack where I publish original horror stories, behind-the-scenes looks at my films, and courses for writers.

What inspired you to create this course for novelists, screenwriters, and filmmakers?

It actually started late one night during a deep philosophical conversation with ChatGPT. We started discussing the future of story structure, and I fell down the rabbit hole. I realized there was a shift happening. While there's nothing wrong with classic story models like Save the Cat or the Hero's Journey, many writers are sensing that something new is emerging. That's what The New Myths Course is about: giving writers fresh tools and perspectives to structure stories that speak to our time. It's already helped me come up with new ideas I would've never had otherwise. It won't teach you how to write, no course really can, but it will give you a powerful framework to unleash your voice. If you want to learn how to write, Dominic Morgan's course is one of the few that actually teaches the craft of writing, but my course will give you ideas and story structures that will be shaping culture over the next 20 years.

Can you walk us through the structure and content of the course? What topics do you cover?

The course is built around new mythic storytelling patterns designed for the next 20 years. It covers why traditional structures are breaking down, and introduces powerful new archetypes like The Mystic Outcast, The Fractured Seeker, and The Healer With a Shadow. I also explore genre-blending, story mapping, and the role of cultural shifts in how we tell stories. Each module is packed with ideas you can immediately apply to novels, screenplays, or even micro budget films. It's not a step-by-step formula, it's a creative toolbox for visionary storytellers.

How do you think this course can help writers and filmmakers improve their craft, particularly in the horror genre?

Horror is one of the most flexible genres out there, and this course gives horror writers the freedom to move beyond jump scares and slasher tropes. It helps you tap into psychological, spiritual, and mythic horror stories that reflect deeper truths about our culture and ourselves. If you're writing horror with layers, this course will show you how to structure it in a way that sticks with people long after the credits roll.

What advice would you give to aspiring horror writers and filmmakers who are just starting out?

Start a Substack. Make a film. Don't wait for permission. Like Mark Duplass said, "The cavalry isn't coming." You have to create and market your own work. Even a short story or a five-minute short film can open doors if it's authentic. The key is consistency. Build your own weird little empire, and stay true to your voice.

As a filmmaker, where do you see yourself after 10 years?

I see myself living full-time as a creator, writing books and scripts, producing films, and helping others tell their stories. Whether it's horror, myth, or something totally offbeat, I want to keep building projects that matter to me and connect with audiences in meaningful ways.

What has been one of the most exciting achievements of your career so far?

Getting repped by two agents was a major milestone, but honestly, filming my first proof-of-concept horror scene for The One-Eyed Monster was even more meaningful. It was a dream I'd been working toward for years, and seeing it come to life was surreal.

What's your goal in life you want to achieve next?

Right now, my biggest goal is to finish and release my feature horror film, The One-Eyed Monster. I've got the script, the team, and the vision, now I'm focused on raising the final funds and getting it made.

What motivates you to do your best work?

God and imagination. I believe creativity is a sacred calling. Stories have the power to heal, challenge, and reveal. When I write or make a film, I feel like I'm doing what I was created to do.

Everybody needs time out. What do you do in your free time?

Prayer and meditation keep me grounded. I also love watching movies and shows, especially horror and documentaries. And yeah, I still enjoy a good pizza night now and then.

How can people find you and follow you online?

You can check out The New Myths Course here:

Interview with Dr. Nadia Correia

Welcome to this exclusive interview with the brilliant mind of Dr. Nadia Correia, a pioneering figure in the world of scientific research. Dr. Correia is renowned for her groundbreaking contributions to various fields, and her insatiable curiosity has led her to explore the frontiers of knowledge. From unraveling the mysteries of the cosmos to advancing medical technologies, Dr. Correia's work has touched the lives of millions. Join us as we delve into the life and achievements of this mental health care Specialist.

Q. Can you share with us your journey in the field of psychiatry and what inspired you to specialize in mental health?

My journey wasn’t very easy to be honest.

As a professional moving  to work in the UK , I can state that I have  faced several challenges. Some of the challenges include cultural differences, language barriers, and adjusting to the new work environments and some other unexpected challenges that I prefer not to share.

My profession is very rewarding as I can help patients who were once institutionalized indefinitely by treating them so that they can live at their own homes (even partially), work, and have relationships with people. As a Mental Health specialist , I have the unique opportunity to improve the mental health of my  patients and improve their quality of life.

Q. Your work focuses on promoting mental wellness and destigmatizing mental health issues. Could you tell us more about your approach to achieving this goal?

By destigmatizing mental health care, we can encourage more people to seek help when they need it, reducing the burden on individuals and society. Another key factor in the destigmatization of mental health care is the increasing openness of people about their own mental health struggles.

One of my goals is to create awareness around mental health issues. Creating awareness about mental health conditions is, perhaps, the most powerful weapon we can wield to alleviate the shame and denial those suffering from these issues may feel. While we can adopt many approaches to raise awareness, what’s most important is that we try.

I have been involved in discussion groups that talk openly about mental health issues where we shed light on the signs and symptoms and also adopting a holistic approach to help my patients and obviously promote social prescribing and use of various available resources in the community.

Q. As a clinical director for Integrated Care Services Group, what specific initiatives or programs have you implemented to improve mental health services and support in your community?

Integrated care services group was founded with the purpose of helping patients recovering from their illness in community settings. At integrated care we promote treatment that enable people with mental disorders to maintain family relationships, friendships and jobs while receiving treatment, which facilitates early treatment and rehabilitation. With severe shortages of mental health professionals in the country, integration of mental health into existing primary and community health services is the most feasible way of increasing access to services for people with mental health problems.

Q. What are some of the biggest challenges you've encountered in your career, particularly when it comes to breaking barriers in the field of psychiatry?

Stigma, discrimination and prejudice against mental illness and those with mental disorder remain a major challenge to psychiatry, although the fact that more celebrities, sports stars and film stars now talk in public about their experience of mental illness and mental distress may lead to a reduction in stigma.

Q. Could you highlight any recent groundbreaking research or insights you've discovered that have had a significant impact on the understanding and treatment of mental health disorders?

Yes, I can refer to a very recent research published that explores the one  medication that is very often prescribed - Ketamine effective for treatment-resistant depression, and the study suggests

A low-cost version of ketamine to treat severe depression has performed strongly in a double-blind trial that compared it with placebo.

In research published on the 14th July 2023 in the British Journal of Psychiatry, researchers led by UNSW Sydney and the affiliated Black Dog Institute found that more than one in five participants achieved total remission from their symptoms after a month of bi-weekly injections, while a third had their symptoms improve by at least 50 per cent. The study was a collaboration between six academic clinical mood disorder units in Australia and one in New Zealand and was funded by the Australian National Health and Medical Research Council (NHMRC)

Q. Being invited to speak at the International Conference on Psychiatry and Mental Health Disorders is a remarkable achievement. Can you give us a sneak peek into the empowering conversation you'll be sharing with the attendees?

Conferences are extremely important events that allow speakers to talk openly about various subjects in their areas of expertise. I haven’t prepared my presentation yet, however I can guarantee that I will be promoting the importance of positive mental health, bring some awareness around more specific diagnosis and improve the attendee’s experience by implementing a variety of approaches that can support mental wellness and acknowledge that these events can be draining.

Q. How do you envision the future of mental health care and psychiatry? What changes or advancements would you like to see in the coming years?

It's possible that the future of psychiatry will involve advanced technology and techniques such as deep brain stimulation — implanting activated electrical nodes inside the brain — which has already proven effective in the treatment of Parkinson's and other movement disorders.

Q. In your opinion, what are some of the most effective strategies for raising awareness about mental health and ensuring access to quality care for individuals in need?

In first place I do think that it’s extremely important that we educate the patients about their diagnosed illnesses and support them to comprehend how their diagnosis and symptoms can affect their day to day living.

It’s important that we talk about Mental Health Issues Openly.

  • Educate ourselves and Others on the Warning Signs and Symptoms of Mental Illnesses. ...
  • Practice Kindness and Compassion. ...
  • Take and Share a Free Mental Health Screening. ...
  • Participate or Volunteer in Awareness Events.
  • Have a holistic approach towards your patient and their families.

Q. As a respected figure in the field, what advice would you give to aspiring psychiatrists or mental health professionals who are passionate about making a positive impact on the lives of their patients?

The rewarding aspects of working in mental health  is the satisfaction of helping patients achieve a higher quality of life. Within this sector and specially mental health , there are not always tangible outcomes like there are in other specialties, but the intangible outcomes are beautiful.

In addition to this, mental health specialists have a lot of variety in their schedule every day and have several opportunities for growth and development. They also have a high level of financial stability.

Q. Lastly, what message or key takeaway do you hope attendees will leave with after hearing your talk at the International Conference on Psychiatry and Mental Health Disorders?

By attending the Psychiatry and Mental   health conference in the United States I do believe that participants will be able to  expand their understanding of the field, access the latest research and evidence-based practices, and enhance their professional development. They can network with myself , collaborate with like-minded individuals, and contribute to shaping the future of mental health care.
