The love between one human and another can be signified by many things. The way they hold each other in public, the years and the time they spend together and, the battles they overcome as a unit.
Annalise and Aiden were never destined to be so lucky.
She was born in Heaven. The first creation of all, the protector of God himself... he was not. He was born in Hell. Certainly not the first creation but, the one trusted to torture the dammed, Aiden was every bit the opposite to Annalise.
So why, over 200, 000 thousand years ago had she made an appearance in his life leaving a stiletto sized stamp in his heart?
He should have hated her.
He should never have gone looking for her.
He shouldn't have asked for Lucifer's help.
There were too many what ifs! Too many to put into words, but the fact of the matter was, he could 'what if' all his long life if it suited him, but it wouldn't change the outcome of their lives.
Their love is now, has always been and, will forever exist to be, a curse. It is forbidden. It is not only frowned upon, not only regarded as the biggest betrayal in history, it is going to eventually wipe out the human race, and probably everything that has come into contact with it since it started.
Every 400 years they go through the same bullshit. 397 years out of the 4, she's kept in a coffin in Heaven, away from him and in a comatose state, naked with no clothes to cover her dignity. He spends those 397 years, moping, waiting, stressing and turning to violence on Earth. The last 3 of the 400 years, to his delight, she is finally on Earth. Not herself though, no memory of him or her former identity, waiting for February 29th to change her course without even knowing that she was.
He spends those three years, loathing the fact he can't get too close to her because of them, and cussing Heaven for punishing her on the day she was first created.
Time is on its way. February 29th, 2012 is just around the corner, and it is proving to be the worst insight to her future yet.
She's being hunted. For the first time since this all started, they have told her what is going to happen and why. Two of her family members have been killed and another snatched away and impregnated, and unless they bring Annalise back, unless they reinstate her one last time, the humans will paint 'The End is Nigh!' on their roofs.
